Mosquitoes don't just ruin a good evening on the patio — in Central Texas they're a legitimate health concern, capable of transmitting West Nile virus and other arboviruses. Our mosquito management program targets adult populations with barrier spray treatments while systematically eliminating the standing water sources where the next generation is already developing.
A female mosquito needs less than a bottle cap of standing water to lay a viable batch of eggs, and those eggs can hatch into biting adults in as few as seven days. That’s the core problem with most mosquito control attempts — people treat the adults they can see without ever addressing the hundreds that are still developing in the birdbath, the rain gauge, the potted plant saucer, and the low spot in the yard that holds water for a week after every storm. We start every service with a thorough breeding site audit to find and address every source we can.
The barrier spray treatment targets adult mosquitoes where they rest during the day — in shrubbery, along fence lines, under deck overhangs, and in the dense foliage around the perimeter. The product we use is a botanical-based pyrethrin formulation that is highly effective against mosquitoes and breaks down quickly in sunlight, making it a practical choice in yards where kids and pets are active. We treat on a monthly schedule during peak season (March through October) to maintain pressure on the population as new adults emerge.
For water features, gutters, and other areas that can’t be drained, we apply larvicide dunks or granules that are specifically formulated to kill mosquito larvae without harming birds, fish, or beneficial insects. If you want the convenience of an automated barrier system, we also install programmable misting systems that can be triggered on a timer or via smartphone for extra coverage before outdoor events. Your backyard was not designed to be a mosquito sanctuary, and we intend to remind them of that.
